Journey on Relaxation
I found the Journey on Relaxation to be very interesting. I think that everyone has stress in their lives and any technique to help with relaxation, I think is great! I found this technique to be helpful because it discusses how to take off your shoes, find a comfortable position, and start "breathing" to start to relax your body. Breathing is such a relaxing technique in itself. Has anyone ever just had to take in a deep breath? I know that I have; when I get stressed, taking a nice deep breath and telling my self, "just take a deep breath and calm down, relax." It really does work. I also found that the Journey on Relaxation is very interesting in the fact the mere "power of suggestion, can control our bodies to help decrease tension and increase relaxation." I think this is true, because if you sit in a quite room and take deep breaths, and tell yourself that your body is relaxed, then usually it will be.

You made some excellent points in your blog. I can totally agree with you on your comments. Everyone faces stress in life and thats part of life. But it's how we learn how to deal with it that matters. If we as humans know what kind of relaxation techniques we can use to help reduce stress then we would all be great. I always recommend relaxation techniques and anything you can do to help reduce stress. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment! I completely agree that if we can find some relaxation technique that works best for us, it would help us cope with the everyday stresses in our lives. Thank you again for your comment!
DeleteI agree that you did make some interesting points in your post. We are dealt with stress everyday of our lives, and it seems to never go away. I do think with the relaxation exercises, it will help us to deal better with the stressors in our lives.

DeleteYou are completely correct, we all have stressors that we have to deal with in our lives; whether it's family, work, finances, etc., in some way, shape, or form, stress effects all of us. So we all need to figure out the best way for each of us to handle the stressors, so they don't break us down completely. I, personally, do not have the best record of being able to positively and effectively handle my stress, but I am trying to change that. I thought the Journey to relaxation was quite helpful for me, even if I was interrupted a few times, I still managed to feel more relaxed than before I sat down to do the exercise. And that is a great step for me. I hope to be able to effectively change how I deal with stress in my life, so I can manage and can cope with it, instead of getting bogged down and more stressed over it.

Hi Sara,
ReplyDeleteGreat start to our blogs! I really think it's important to know who we are, as no one knows us better than we know ourselves, right? Once we know what stresses us, RUN! Just kidding...don't run, just figure out how to manage that type of stressor when you know it's on the way. I say just give me a big block of white chocolate :-)
Hi Rebecca,
DeleteI think that is a great idea; I'll take some chocolate :) That always helps me out with stress! I do think it is great to find what works best for you and use that. I also find that just listening to music sometimes helps me relax and feel much better! I think that is why I listen to music when I am running; no not running away...LOL. Just running for exercise :)
